Is your company involved with the demolition industry? Do you ever become exposed to asbestos?
If you have answered yes to either of the above questions then you should, or at least I hope you do, be aware of the need for adequate and professional asbestos awareness training.
Our company was starting to expand. We were now employing ten people - this was the most that had ever worked for the company. I have to say that the majority of the jobs that we took on were what many people would see as "minor" or "basic". We do however have certain standards and we have always ensured that we provide an excellent customer service. Our overall quality or workmanship were something that we took great pride in and we soon became renowned for this.
As a senior director in the company it was absolutely superb to see and be a part of the speedy growth in the business. We were then called to price up a warehouse conversion, in the South of England. This was a much bigger job than what we were used to quoting however we were more than happy to be of assitance.
A couple of our guys went to the property to do an assessment and to produce the quote which we duly forwarded on to the company. Much to our pleasure we were very quickly appointed to do the work, a project that would take around two weeks to complete.
There was one major issue that was of concern; part of the original warehouse would need to be demolished of which the roof was partly made up of asbestos. This of course can be some what of a hazardous task and as such there are regulations that have to be adhered to. I looked into what would be required and sent three members of our staff on an asbestos awareness training course. We were happily surprised at the cost of the course which was very reasonable in our opinion.
We have since started to specialise in this type of work hence the reason for our continued rapid growth.
